Building a Better Response: Integrated Learning Program
In order to strengthen the capacity of NGO personnel to coordinate with humanitarian systems in a manner that improves overall response to the needs of affected populations, a series of three-day workshops is being planned for NGO staff by International Medical Corps (IMC).
Date: 8th -10th October 2018
Location: Copenhagen, Denmark
The Building a Better Response project aims to provide training to strengthen the capacity of humanitarian actors to engage with the international humanitarian coordination system, including complex humanitarian emergencies, and by doing so, improve coordination and response to the needs of affected populations.
Funded by the US Agency for International Development, Office of US Foreign Disaster Assistance, the project is being implemented through a consortium that brings together a combination of operational and technical expertise, spearheaded by International Medical Corps (IMC) in collaboration with Concern Worldwide and the Harvard Humanitarian Initiative.
In order to strengthen the capacity of NGO personnel to coordinate with humanitarian systems in a manner that improves overall response to the needs of affected populations, a series of three-day workshops is being planned for NGO staff by IMC.
The target audience for this workshop is staff working in Europe, with a priority for those working in the Scandinavia region. Staff must be from national or international NGOs engaged in humanitarian response who have elements of humanitarian coordination included in their job responsibilities, and who are committed to promoting coordination within their organizations
The aim of these workshops is to provide participants with an in-depth understanding of the international coordination system for large-scale emergencies and help participants identify where they can take action and engage directly within the system. These 3-day workshops build on the Building a Better Response e-learning course (www.BuildingABetterResponse.org).
