Building inclusive compliance @ Humanitarian Networks and Partnerships Week 2022

Building an inclusive compliance landscape: Modular due diligence and a global digital repository

10 May 2022

Geneva and Virtual

Due diligence is the main barrier for local actors to access funding. This represents a systemic challenge and a major blocker to delivering on global localisation commitments. Following a highly popular and long-overdue discussion on due diligence at the HNPW 2021, Start Network has made important steps in its tiered due diligence journey.

Date and time: 10 May 14:00 - 15:30 (UTC +2)

Start Network is developing country-level due diligence modules that are appropriate to and reflective of the local context, with the aim to support its decentralised hub infrastructure and ambition to bring on board more local and national organisations into its membership.

At this event, we aim to:

  • Share Start Network's learning from its tiered due diligence and sector-wide 'passporting' journey, including the outcomes of piloting direct access to funding for local and national organisations;
  • Present, discuss and get feedback on the decentralised, local service model and ‘modular due diligence framework’ currently being tested in Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Nepal, and how we can scale best practices within the humanitarian ecosystem;
  • Have honest conversations about the challenges and limitations, along with the opportunities and concrete actions we can take to test and introduce improvements to the international compliance architecture, including the development of a global digital repository on due diligence.
