Indirect Cost Recovery (ICR) and overhead costs have been a contended topic for many decades in the humanitarian sector. Often ICR is not shared equitably between international, national, and local organisations when implementing a project together. This is a problem and a reflection of a system that lacks inclusivity and still holds unfair practices, hindering locally led action. Join us at HNPW 2022 to discuss how we can address this.

Start Fund Bangladesh (SFB) has made concrete steps to move away from this malpractice and create an environment where international, national and local organisations willingly choose to share ICR in an equitable way. The outcomes were extremely beneficial for national and local NGOs, as they invested the ICR on their own organisational development and sustainability.
