Start Network Strategy Week
13-17 November 2017
Strategy Week is an annual, week-long series of internal governance meetings and strategy events for senior member representatives and stakeholders of the Start Network.
The format for the week was first tested in 2014 when it was known as Mini Mega Week, as it was originally developed as a compliment to Mega Week – now known as Start for Change – which is held in May each year and has a more external focus with events like the Annual Conference.
This year’s Strategy Week will take place from 13 to 17 November in the Hague, Netherlands. The schedule is as follows:
Monday 13 November
Start Network in 90 minutes: An introduction of Start Network's operations, innovations and vision. It is an opportunity for prospective donors and partners to learn more about the Network and show existing partners the potential for further engagement.
Tuesday 14 November
Start Fund Council: A platform for current partners, donors and members to come together with the Start Fund team to discuss their investment in the Start Fund and review performance.
Directors Meeting: Brings together the Directors of the Start Fund's current donors to hear how significant their support is for disaster affected communities, and learn more about Start's other humanitarian initiatives.
Wednesday 15 and Thursday 16 November
Assembly: The Assembly is made up of representatives from all Network member agencies. This bi-annual meeting provides an opportunity for members to reflect on their experience of collaboration and learning, share their views and ideas with their peers, and consider the position and future of the Start Network.
Friday 17 November
Board meeting: The Board will meet to discuss the Network's strategic direction, taking its steer from the discussions and issues raised at the Assembly.
