The DR Congo Hub
In November 2018, under the initiative of the Hub development in DR Congo, around 20 potential members of DR Congo Hub met in Goma, together with a Start Network team representative, to create a vision for a more effective and efficient humanitarian system in DRC that is independent, proactive, community-led, with collective responsibility.
The DRC Hub has identified the following key priority areas of work:
- Exploring two cases studies of disaster anticipation (volcanic eruption in Goma) and emergency response ( Ebola outbreak in North Kivu and Ituri Provinces);
- Organising a training session for risk financing,
- Testing the Start Network Tiered Due Diligence Framework
- Promoting communication and engagement of potential members of the Start Network DRC Hub
