The Start Fund was alerted on 1 August 2016 to heavy monsoon downpours in Bangladesh, which had been ongoing since July and resulted in the overflowing of major rivers, embankment breaching and severe flooding.
Projects by Action Against Hunger, Care, Caritas Bangladesh, Christian Aid, and Save the Children were funded following a meeting in Dhaka.
