The Start Network recently approved eight capacity strengthening project proposals as part of the Start Build work stream. These proposals are for collaboratively designed initiatives led by Start Network members.

The projects were assessed by a peer review panel, a small group nominated by the Start Network board. The panellists assessed eighteen project proposals in a series of review sessions against criteria agreed in the Start Network capacity strengthening agenda.

The peer review methodology was designed during the CBHA pilot to ensure impartial decision making. Because the panellists understand the context and the challenges that their peers face, the methodology allows for honest and contextualised judgement. The process also upholds transparency and quality, and encourages collective buy-in from across the membership.

The eight approved projects will receive support and guidance from the Start team’s Transition Manager, who will be working with the project leads to develop a coherent and exciting portfolio for the Network. The details of these initiatives will be shared when the portfolio has been finalised.
