The Start Network has an amazing job available – Head of the Start Fund. The Start Fund is the world’s first multi-donor pooled fund for humanitarian action, which is owned and managed exclusively by NGOs.

What is important to understand is that there are very few jobs like this anywhere on planet earth.  If you are looking for a differentiator on your CV, or a job from which to gain unique life changing experience, this is a job for you.

What is also important to understand is that we are building a new platform for global public good, and this job will be right in the heart of that effort.  You will be able to point out your legacy to your children, and your grandchildren will sleep more safely because of the crisis response fund that you will help to build.

Something this audacious could not be a solitary effort.  This job will be the convenor and catalyst of a large network of full-time, part-time and voluntary staff around the world who actually run the Start Fund.  This is leadership in the 21st Century model – by creating an environment that enables collaboration between organisations in 200 countries.  The staff are talented and motivated too.

We are looking for someone who has managed a humanitarian crisis response operation on the front line who understands how the international architecture for humanitarian financing works, and who has the bravery, and the creativity to build a fund that complements how things are done today.

If you have questions speak to Adrian Pillay.

The job closes on 27 March so read more and apply.
