We're excited to have been invited once again to attend the Dubai International Humanitarian and Development conference and exhibition (DIHAD) from 24 – 26 March. As the largest humanitarian event in the Middle East, DIHAD connects humanitarian actors, governments and private sector organisations from around the world. The theme of the event this year will be ‘Opportunity, Mobility and Sustainability: The Humanitarian Aid and Development Perspectives.’

The Start Network will be represented at both the Conference and the Exhibition, with high profile speaking slots and a central strategic position within the main hall.

This follows our successful representation at the event last year, where we were joined by representatives from six of our member agencies. Unlike last year, we will not be offering individual booths to member agencies, but the opportunity to host meetings and network with event participants in our central Start Network member space.

It is hoped that our presence at DIHAD will raise awareness of the Start Network in the Middle East, and bring about new opportunities for dialogue and partnerships with regional humanitarian actors. Since last year, our Fund and Build programmes have been launched, and a number of relationships have been established in the region, which we hope to reflect in our increased profile at this year’s event.
