In 2016 the Start Network launched Crisis Anticipation within the Start Fund. By providing a mixture of forecasting, risk analysis and ‘no regrets’ funding, they hoped to catalyse a culture shift across the Start Network towards greater uptake of early and forecast-based humanitarian financing.
In 2019, the Start Network evaluated their efforts so far. This short brief documents the 10 key lessons identified in the report from the first three years of crisis anticipation at the Start Network.
