Start Network is pleased to announce that 12 new local and national aid agencies, based in India, Pakistan and the Democratic Republic of Congo, have joined the network. The new members have joined as part of Start Network’s plans to build a more balanced network made up of more local and national actors.
Start Network has announced five founding hubs to be based in countries and regions affected by crises, localising resources and decision-making to improve the quality of humanitarian aid.
Over the past year, the drought emergency has shown how climate change and natural hazards are increasing humanitarian needs in Ethiopia. As communities cope with shocks in agricultural and livestock production and access to food, national humanitarian organisations working with these communities find themselves apart from the decision-making spaces.
