Following an injection of UK Aid funding in October 2015, Start Network is coordinating a consortium of 17 agencies to respond to the European Refugee Crisis in Greece, Croatia, Macedonia, Slovenia and Serbia.
Here we look at the response by Start Network member ActionAid.
ActionAid is currently focused on providing information, support and guidance to refugees in their own language in Moria and Kara Tepe; supporting women and their children in ActionAid's two Women-Friendly Spaces where relief items are distribute; identifying the most vulnerable families and supporting them in cooperation with other agencies. As in all areas of work, ActionAid is sensitive to the needs of its beneficiaries and adapts programmes to the needs which refugees themselves identify as important.
