As a global network of civil society organisations, Start Network stands in solidarity with the people of Ukraine. We will deploy our resources, reach, and collective voice to assist and protect Ukrainian people and communities.

We join other organisations in calling on global powers to use their means and influence to avoid escalating the conflict further. We must help Ukraine’s neighbours prepare for and welcome refugees coming from Ukraine – whatever their nationality, race or creed – and all organisations must counter misinformation by sharing only credible information sources.

We ask governments and public and private donors to increase support for coordinated and context-relevant humanitarian assistance – and especially to local organisations that are the first responders inside Ukraine, a country that has already suffered eight years of armed conflict and needless loss of lives.

We also stand in solidarity with the people of Syria, Yemen, Palestine, DRC and many others experiencing conflict and we join others in calling for global powers to ensure the needs of others do not go unserved.
