Start Fund Alert Note

The Start Fund provides rapid financing to underfunded small to medium-scale crises, spikes in chronic humanitarian crises, and to act in anticipation of impending crises, filling a critical gap in humanitarian financing.

This note should concisely provide an overview of the crisis, highlight the needs of the affected people, and explain the appropriateness of the Start Fund to respond. The alert note is a means of providing information to the Start Network to enable decision-making. Please be reminded that the Start Fund process usually takes place within 72 hours of the alert being raised. If an alert note submitted to the Start Fund will cause the process to run into the weekend for your time zone, please be aware that this may cause delays to funding, due to the availability of decision-makers.
