Start Network's 2020 Assembly, the first one to be held online, begins today. The four-day event includes the network's 10-year anniversary celebrations and the winners of the Working Differently Challenge will be announced.
The Start Network Assembly includes representatives from all Start Network members. Each year the Assembly meets to help set the network’s strategic direction and act as a sounding board to inform the network’s evolution. The Assembly meeting also includes the organisation's Annual General Meeting. Members of the Start Network host Assembly meetings each year. In past years, Welthungerhilfe, Cordaid, CAFOD and Qatar Charity have hosted the Assembly meeting in the UK, Germany, the Netherlands and Qatar.
The meeting this year will be open to many more stakeholders and many sessions including Start Network's 10-year anniversary will be streamed via social media.
As part of Start Network’s 10-year anniversary, we will celebrate 10 change makers who have made or are making a considerable impact within their community, country, region, organisation or wider system – individuals, teams or organisations that are driving positive change within the humanitarian sector. Join us live on Facebook at 1630 UK time on Thursday 15 October 2020, when we will announce the Start Network Change Makers.
This will be an exciting opportunity for Start Network to gain experience in running virtual Assembly meetings, which has always been the plan as the network grows and decentralises. This year we will focus on ensuring the events are suitable for members in different timezones, and who speak different languages.
