Locally Driven Humanitarian Action in Bangladesh

The Start Bangladesh Hub is a Network of humanitarian LNNGOs, INGOs and relevant civil society actors with the common aim to provide early and rapid emergency response during crises. Supported by the global Start Network, its journey begin with the establishment of Start Fund Bangladesh (SFB) in 2017. Start Fund Bangladesh is modelled on the successful Start Fund that activates funding within 72 hours of a crisis alert. Currently the Hub has expanded beyond Start Fund Bangladesh and included more programmes in its portfolio.

The Network is currently made of 40 national and international member NGOs, with diverse experiences and backgrounds, operating in Bangladesh. It is a nationally owned membership-led mechanism that is governed by transparent, neutral, collective decision making and acts ahead or in response to humanitarian crisis in the country.

Our value comes from a portfolio of core strengths that includes networking, funding, innovating and influencing. Our unique offer as a network is our ability to blend these strengths to drive system-level change.
