Start Network at COP26

Start Network is calling on world leaders at COP26 to help ensure the humanitarian sector is better prepared to deal with more intense and severe climate crises.

G7 announcement to support pre-arranged finance necessary to saving more lives but should have gone further

Yesterday's announcement at the G7 summit included a package of support from the UK, Germany and the USA to scale up pre-arranged finance to protect the world’s most vulnerable communities against the impacts of climate change. This is a necessary step if governments are committed to saving more lives.  However, the announcement could have gone further and we are now waiting for concrete targets and a timetable around this support.

Local and national organisations call to action for the G7

This year, our local and national members took part in the Civil Society 7 Summit hosted by the UK government and Bond. Our local and national members engaged in conversations and roundtables, discussing and making recommendations on seven priorities.

The events we have experienced in 2020 may catalyse the types of changes that the world has been demanding for many years. From localisation and decolonisation to action on the global climate emergency, to maximising technology and advocating for accountability.
